  • 4 Moments On The Diary Of A CEO That Changed My Life

This week, we’re going to do something a little different, offering up four pearls of wisdom from our guests on how to find more connection in your life. Connection with other people, but also a better connection with yourself, what you really want, and what’s really good for you.

These four incredible snippets from Mo Gawdat, Africa Brooke, Bear Grylls and Mel Robbins together offer inspiration on how to break through the mental barriers holding you back to feel more present in the moment and be clearer with yourself and others about your needs and desires. When a guest steps into the kitchen and sits themselves down, they’re not just appearing on a podcast, they’re joining the Diary of a CEO community.

Every single conversation adds new dimensions of truth, honesty, wisdom and integrity. By bringing these four passages together, it shines new light on the individual value of them all, but it also helps us understand the journey we’re all on together in more perspective.

  • Moment 73 – Simon Sinek: How To Find Ultimate Fulfilment At Work

In these ‘Moment’ episodes of my podcast, I’ll be selecting my favourite moments from previous episodes of The Diary Of A CEO. In this moment, Simon Sinek talks about how we can find purpose in our lives through attaching it to causes bigger than ourselves. There are things that we can achieve by ourselves, but true satisfaction and real pride in our achievements always comes from being part of a team or a collective. A wider cause or a group we care about is the only thing that would cause us to make real sacrifices. Simon’s thought long and hard about how we can take projects in the workplace and in our social lives and infuse them with real meaning for everyone involved with them. What’s emerged is a profound meditation on where human satisfaction really comes from, and a step by step guide on how to bring these principles into your life. • James Smith: Become Confident In 100 Minutes

James Smith is a fitness influencer and the two-time best-selling author of Not a Life Coach and Not a Diet Book. His no holds barred approach to fitness advice makes him unlike any other fitness influencer today, and now he’s bringing his unique philosophy to improving people’s confidence.

According to James, we’ve been getting self confidence and how to achieve it all wrong. Confidence is not a surefire belief in ourselves to achieve great things, but rather confidence is being at peace with the idea of losing or things going wrong. When you know it isn’t the end of the world, you realise losing isn’t the same as being defeated.

Like James’ brutally honest fitness advice, there’s no quick fix to confidence, or any miracle cure. James starts, like he always does, by looking at himself honestly – and truthfully – in the mirror, and all he asks is we do the same as well. James’ book is out today.

  • Pret & Itsu Founder: How I Built TWO Billion Dollar Brands At The Same Time!: Julian Metcalfe

Julian Metcalfe is the founder of Pret A Manger and Itsu, and since he’s been a young man has been on a mission to change the way we think about eating out and how we eat. His companies are together worth over $3 billion.

But he’s also been on a mission to prove something to himself after the suicide of his mother and a life threatening car crash when he was still young uprooted his life as he knew it. Like all founders, he chose the long road back to being secure in himself.

Julian spews with original thoughts on how to really take a company from zero to $1 billion+, from hiring and firing to knowing when to take the leap to expand your brand. Business is a game of thousands of little decisions, a few really big ones, and a hawks eye for knowing when to pounce. Few people we’ve encountered on the podcast had such a good gut instinct as Julian, nor were so good at articulating exactly how they did it.

  • Making $100 Million A Year Eating Raw Liver: Liver King

The Liver King is an illusive internet sensation who says the secret to a healthy and happy life is to eat raw meat every day. An advocate of what he calls an ‘ancestral lifestyle’, we have to return to the lifestyle our hunter-gatherer forebears.

Returning to this way of living is most consistent with our DNA and what we’re genetically coded to want according to the Liver King. A controversial figure, his advocating of this diet is disputed by many nutritionists, but the Liver King says it has transformed his life, that of his family, and his followers who take up his suggestion.

In this raw interview the Liver King opens up on criticism and his sometimes crippling anxieties for the first time, as well as how his ancestral lifestyle shapes his bond with his wife, the Liver Queen. It isn’t always easy to be the king.

  • Gary Neville: From Football Legend To Building A Business Empire

Gary Neville is a broadcaster, serial business founder and owner, and a winner of every possible club football title in his 20 years playing for Manchester United – with 2 Champions League medals, 8 Premier League medals, 3 FA Cup medals, a Club World Cup medal, and 2 League cup medals.
